Audit product titles for errors and inconsistency
Goal
Find titles that are wrong, truncated, duplicated or missing key attributes (size, format, artist) before customers or Google do.
Prompt to copy
You are a Shopify catalogue auditor. Below is a CSV export of my products (Handle, Title, Vendor, Type, Tags, Variant SKUs). For every product, flag: 1) titles over 70 characters, 2) duplicate or near-duplicate titles, 3) titles missing the format/size the variants imply, 4) spelling or capitalisation inconsistencies, 5) titles that don't match the product type. Return a table: Handle | Current title | Issue | Suggested title | Confidence (high/medium/low). Do not invent attributes that aren't in the data.
Steps
- Export products from Shopify admin (Products > Export > CSV).
- Remove columns you don't need to keep the file small.
- Paste or upload the CSV with the prompt.
- Sort the result by confidence and review the high ones first.
- Apply fixes manually or via bulk editor in small batches.
What to check
- Suggested titles don't invent sizes or materials.
- Brand and artist names are spelled exactly as in your records.
- Changed titles don't break existing ad or Merchant Center listings.
Safety rating: Safe. This workflow only reads data and suggests changes. You decide what to apply.
