Optimise collections for multiple print formats of the same artwork
Goal
When one artwork sells as poster, canvas, framed print and card, avoid duplicate content and make each format findable.
Prompt to copy
I sell the same artwork in several formats: [list formats]. Here are products for 5 artworks with their titles, descriptions, and whether each format is a variant or a separate product. Recommend: 1) variants vs separate products for each format, with SEO trade-offs, 2) a title pattern per format, 3) how to write format-specific description sections so pages aren't duplicates, 4) automated collection rules (by tag or type) for 'by format' and 'by artwork' collections. Give a worked example for one artwork.
Steps
- Pick 5 representative artworks.
- Run the prompt and agree on a pattern.
- Apply to the 5, check Search Console after 2–4 weeks.
- Roll out to the rest using the tag rules.
What to check
- Separate products aren't near-identical copies.
- Collection rules use tags you actually apply consistently.
- Google Merchant Center feed still maps formats correctly.
Safety rating: Safe. This workflow only reads data and suggests changes. You decide what to apply.
